The Ghost of Pedro's passing

We left yesterday morning at 7:30am and got here in Edisto Island about 4:pm. Had to photo the Pedro Hat Pillar. It just would not be the same without the Pedro signs. I will try to take a few on the way back. William is styling his new head phones given as a gift from my rents. It is way of relieving the day. A cocktail, a lay down, and a good album blasting in his ears with no distractions. Sounds pretty keen actually. He is very grateful to the in-laws, and even some in-in-laws this year with the Christmas gifts of cheer. Mostly for the computer and I-Pod.
I had a good look at me mom's tree. Quite the beautiful sight, eh? It is more the clean look this year, even and daintilly tall, but the angel was so pretty I had to a study it up close. And well, then there was St Nich, I am still not sure if he is dead or severely hung-over, but I could not see him breathing. Whose the good boy now, huh? So, I am calling it Santa's Death Sled. Details at 11. Please all, have a good and safe Christmas. This is the time of year when many are thinking that they should be happier and better than they are, and then look for alternative means of finding this happiness. Make sure you do not get caught up in the sorrows that surround the joy. It is a time to be with those you love, and if you are not able to be, know that they love you and will be able to be there soon. Blessings to all, and to all good pics. Enjoy them.

Mimickery and Sunsets

Hey ya'll. It has been a bit, but things are moving fast so I haven't found much time to do the bloggin'. Anyway, I had a safe trip down to Edisto for the Christmas family get together. I have done all my shoppin', and then some. But that is good for all. I have to write a sonnet tonight which I will do shortly. Oh why not wait till tomorrow. I don't win the procrastination, practically every year, awards by being done first, now do I? I am going to do a back to the future and put some other picture and bloggin' in. I hope you all got to see the Colbert report with his guitar contest with The Decemberist's lead guitarist member, as well as, a few more politicians and rockers. it was fun for him as well as them and us. I will sign off now. Enjoy the pics. Oh, yeah. Enlarge the Matthew and Shelley pic and see what they are mimicking on the fridge. It is the calender that helps raise funds to help support Dragon Boat Charleston. A Dragon Boat Team comprised of both cancer survivors and supporters. They have another out this year. Matthew and Shelley and William and I have looked through the calender every now and then and discussed the different dealings with cancer, nudity, and photo concepts. It is interesting how something like this is such a subtle influence on ones day. I love my family very much, and find that we are all still around a miraculous graceful feat that we have been blessed with. Whether it be because of mans' technology, God, Allah, Jesus, Mohammad, or the painted lady down the street on the corner, I praise the gift and the fighting support we have have been bestowed. Now, enjoy the Pics.

Let them us eat cake.

Here is the cake from our luncheon at work today. Shelly helped me bake it while William and Matthew talked philosophy, and dissertation of the Matthew man. Then we played Cranium. Oh did, we play Cranium. enjoy the poem and the pic.

Free from Form

this is an old poem that I need to share today. I wrote it back in the late 80's early 90's not sure really. Please enjoy.

The clouds move free from form
Feeling the wind move its outer region
I sit and wonder if my form is much the same
There is the basic mass of materials
Metaphysical to cause the molecular being -
And then that which surrounds me causes
or influences me to bend this way and flow that

Looked upon myself I might be unusual
Or unique, but add the earth next to me
The supporting sky behind me, and
The passing sun, and
The whole view is Astronomical.

Not too enlightening, but enjoy the pic.

Happy to be where I am.

When I go to pick up William this is my favorite view. I get to be between the Nations Capital and the Washington Monument. It is one of my favorite places to be. I am not all that, "Proud to be an American." But it does make me feel that I am in the middle of it all.
I am bummed because we bought me a ticket to fly down early for Christmas, and take a well deserved vacation, but it seems not at this time. We will need to eat the price of the ticket, and take it another time. I can just think of being needed in the mature way I am being needed, and get on with my life, eh? Enjoy the pics.

Sky Unbelevable

Today was the sky day of death. The tree I took on the way to work. The middle was more the water tower in the back middle. The sun was lighting it so majestically. And then I was coming out of Home Depot, (in which they were making an announcement and at the end the guy says at, "Ho-Ho-Ho-Home Depot" God it was sick. Points for him. I was walking by a women that worked there at the same time, and wanted to ask her if he was talking about her, but either she wouldn't get it or I would get slapped. either way it wasn't a good plan) and the orange clouds were so loud. How could I refuse any of these pictures from your viewing pleasure. William and I just went out to eat at Annie's. We had a half condesending and half dismissive, but just the right tone of kindliness and sincerity to allow the asshole to serve us. However, at Home Depot earlier this guy, Dan, was phenomenal in helping 4 people consecutively, and yet, simultaneously. It was awesome. I wish he new how to sew I would have hired him immediately. There was a guy at Michael's Art's and Crafts, Kevin, that I felt the same way about today. Sunday, Which is now today that I am editing this, I hope to relax with the other two, and be happy. Enjoy the pics.

Holly and Hot Air.

I have been busy of late, but today I am taking some time for me, and going to G Street Fabrics in Rockville and seeing their antique button show. These are pics from driving home from work, and then walking Edvard that same night, which was Wednesday. I hope to be getting some snow action soon, but it is not likely. There is so much hot air blowing in DC, that it doesn't get here as much as I like. And don't fool yourself, I realize I am part of the warm front. Enjoy the pics.

The Golden Days of Now

I saw the tree almost empty of leaves, and yet still golden in its beauty. I hope that I am that way in the autumn years. There is also a nice cloud gathering that I saw this yesterday morning while walking the dog. I was just fortunate that the birds did a circle and flew back in my line of picture. It is not often that things in life come back around for us. And leads this me to the next picture Ben and Den came back into town for a visit. The blurriness of the picture might be from the three angels sitting at the table with us. I will let you infer who the three are. Dinner was great. Well, the food wasn't so good, but the company and the atmosphere was great. Enjoy the pics.

A Few of My Favorite Things

Here are a few of my favorite things. I wanted to share them. I know I keep sending pics of the sky, but what pollution and God can make is a wonder. While my dog is sleeping in his bed because it is a drizzly morning, I thought I would post a blog. The week has been a difficult one, but nothing that can't be handled. I hope to sign on a few more people to our staff next week, but we shall see. We saw our friends Jim and Sandy last night and went to eat Indian food in Adams Morgan. I am remiss because I did not take a pic of them, but they will be here again. It is weird being the only one sitting at the table not drinking. Being an Alcoholic, one might notice how tall the Taj Mahal beer bottle is, or how soft and succulent the glass of White Zin looks. Especially, after sending away the second glass that came with the carafe, and not getting the Cardamon Tea that one ordered. Jim and Sandy if you get to this please don't feel bad. ( I just went for an hour walking the dog. Did you miss me?) Back to business. It is funny that I see it as this, and they (meaning most other people) don't. But how could they? I mention this to be informative to someone who might tap into this, and be able to learn from it. Not as a bitch session. Anyway, it is life in the way we live it. It was a very nice visit, otherwise. I hope to be able to go out there (Iowa) to visit them soon. Sounds sick, but I would love to spend a few severally cold snowy days out in the Mid West.
I also, wanted to show Carin's pic on the blog site. She is a special young lady dealing with life in a good way. She ends up in the store for a while, so she gets to decorate a manikin every now and then. But people want to over rule this decision because they are seeing it as maybe not having enough control of their situation. But I view it as a growth for everyone. Patience for some, admiration for others, and definitely an artistic and culturing event for Carin. God bless the young, they have so much to learn about handling life as adults and with adults.
The final pic is of my Christmas stocking and the Abominable Snowman. (Thank you Janis for the help in the spelling) The statue is one our favorite Christmas trinkets. The stocking I got from Dan. A previous partner. Lost him, kept the stocking. The statue we got from Tommy, Sandy, and Thomas the 4th. Thanks guys. Hope to get a picture of the 3 of them at Christmas. Enjoy the pics.

Tree and grilled Velveeta

Well, we got the new-used G4 computer from Dana last night, and it is up and running. He let us have a good deal on it. Thanks, Dana. Laura led us in the cleaning of the memory last night, also. The speakers and screen are the best. I had a long day at work today again, as well... "Well, It's been a long, been a long, been a long long day." Can you name that musical??... No, probably not; unless, you're gay or a theatre major.
Anyway, Shelley and Matthew came over to help us decorate our tree. We had a good time. We had grilled Velveeta Cheese sandwiches and crab bisgue. Mmmm-Mmmm. I walked outside with them as they left. we didn't quite get to finish, but I wanted to take a picture for a restoration of the reputation of the dark-windowed tree. This, from a few nights ago when I showed it dark and sinister. Enjoy the pics.

The day after

As I reported yesterday, I was bummin.' But as I was driving out this morning, the cloud arrangement was so soft and beautiful. And as I was getting out of the car with Edvard this morning, I saw this sunrise happening. So, I took yet another sky picture. I dropped off my car, put on my Nano pod, and walked to Starbucks to get a coffee and listen to, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" before going into work. It was kinda' cool. I was drinking and listening to the song I wanted to, but I did it with coffee and in the morning instead of in the night. It is not that I can't do the things I used to do, it is just that I need to alter the plans a little.

Don't let the Sun Go Down on Me

I had to fire someone tonight from my work place. On the way home I called one of my sisters and went on as to how glad I was that I am clean and sober and adjusted, because it helps me deal with these difficult things. Then I called another sister, and told her how I wanted to get drunk and sing,"Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me." Why do we live in two different minds at the same time. I don't know, but I did find out that Verison has me on a plan where I can send 50 pictures a months outside their community without charge. Looks like I will be able to get some more on the blog.

PS This picture was taken just after I had let her go, and then went to dinner to pick up my Humalog from the SFW Pharmacy. Blurry, but pretty. God bless polution. Enjoy the pic.

whoeowooeeh!!!

The scary shrub that awaits from within.

Open air walk. Can you join me?

We were walking in the morning air, and I sighted this home in the open air, as well. It was a little place. One room elevated flat with a view of the neighborhood. It seemed like it was up for occupancy. Well constructed, and pretty safe. Parking space not an issue, but there was one downside to the place. No cable. Ahhh, well. We'll just have to keep looking.
Then we were at a stand still a few blocks further, and I looked down to see these beautiful greens along the sidewalk. They were crisp and fresh, yet soft and cozy, at the same time. Sort of like a good glass of wine, or a hot cup of peppermint mocha. I had to have a picture of this tranquility. Enjoy the pics.

Frosts and Faces

Frosts and faces are the way things sometimes go in this world. This morning as I was walking Edvard in a park I saw some frost on the grass and leaves. Many beautiful things have frost, and are prone to quicker damage of from it. They are laid out there, and exposed to the jeopardies of the world and its actions. We can be supportive and bring warmth to those who are frosted, or stand away and be non-communicative. I prefer to try to make sure that warmth is spread and felt. And if by chance the frost has already come and set, show the beauty that there still is in that composition, or being. Sounds like shit, but it is still part of my life's philosophy. Where does your head go? Enjoy the pics. Oh, PS The building is definitely another face.

The the table was so inviting that there in the the first picture the the squirrel tried to get in; but the the Buddha was being so protective that you can see in the the second picture that he put checkered fabric in the the squirrel's way. Thereby, protecting the the holy sanctum of our dinner. Lo, is the the ways of the the world, and forever is the the giving of dishevel. What shall we do, but be a wayward child that survives as one child can. Love the the chance to be a happy child, and don't drown in the the dishevel. Give thanks for the the peace and good bounty we have, for it can be gone all too quickly. Love all to be loved and friends with all others.

I just like to say some visuals are fun and/or good to see often. The fallen Ginko leaf, or leaves, is one of these visuals, as well as, this video from BaratsAndBereta.com that I hope works as a link that you will enjoy, as well. I have to keep typing something to get the address to sit on one line underneath the picture. So, did I get there, yet? Let me check the preview button. No, not yet. There we go. Sorry you have to copy and paste. I am not savy enough to have set it up as a direct link. Eventually, I will get there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_sn8dYyobM

One of my quirkinesses is that I see faces almost everywhere I go. Not that they are always watching me, just that they are there. In bathroom stalls, in the buildings frames, on the paper I am holding, in the shadows being cast. They are not hard to find, but it is hard sometimes to get other people to see them. This one at whole foods (yes, I was there again) was pretty obvious. I was taking the picture when the door opened and people looked at me as if I was a freak. Which I guess in a way I am, but it's all in fun, eh? I came home early from work tonight so I could paint some more of the dining room. I like to paint. I got it 2/3 of the way done. Way to go self. William is upstairs ironing all our napkins. It is amazing how many napkins we managed to collect. The dog is on the loveseat next to me moaning. He had just gone outside, and stayed out there for about 5 min, and then started barking at something. I figure a cat. I went to see out the door, and he turned from facing the fence, and came in pretty rapidly from outside still barking. And he kept barking every 5 to 10 secs, till he got to the loveseat in the front of the house and climbed up on it, and went right back to sleep. He is such a grumpy old man. It is really funny. I hope I am as cute when I become an old grumpy fart. Wait, more of one.

today is a good day , Damn it, and don't forget it

I being a silly boy was rushing and erased my secod favorite flower picture just now. But these are some of what I was seeing this morning before going to work. It was a fun day, mostly. Towards the end, a woman brought back a return. It is funny the psychology that one can do about people as things are happening. This lady, slash that, this woman, slash that too, but we'll leave it anyway, came in knowing the deal of store credit for returns, but wanted immediately, a refund on her card. She even had her card out as she approached the counter, as if she was looking for a fight. She wanted us to be humble and subserviant to her over bearing loud obnoxious attitude. She did get her refund back to the card, but she didn't get to bring me down. It was feast or famine. She feasted, and I lost weight, but the cashiers were in awe of the way I didn't lose it. These pictures are much the same way. Each is idfferent in what it represents in our lives. I guess my favorite is the leaves gathered in a rain puddle of water on the sidewalk. I mean this is city and nature's leftovers, that have fallen together and have been left to rought on the sidewalk. They are barely noticed, except in the seconds that it takes someone to walk around them. They are like the unused sperm, and ovaries, that don't get to truely be of reproductive use. Although I am sure it is said that if they were the ones that were left to rought and dissipate on the side walk; there must be others that were able to help the rest grow because they were pushed up, or further, than these because these were here in this spot already. Does that make sense? I am sure it can, reeaallly. if you sort of think about it, or not. I mean it is like a teacher that lands in school to teach their students to strive for more, and tries to push them forward. They are bound to have some that achieve great success, but there are other students who just acieve average success. and yet, they might help another person to become more, yes more, than could have been.
I don't think I have been anybody spectacular in my previous lives, butI think that I have helped others come into their greatness. That's enough. Enjoy the pics.

On our early morn-before-work romp

This is a morning sunrise over the southern hemisphere of Adams Morgan in DC. Edvard is fond of this time on crisp clean mornings. So, I thought I would capture this time for you all. Enjoy the pic.

The fun time with the city

I wanted to briefly share with you all the great evening we had tonight in the city of DC. We went to see, "The Queen." Very well done. Worth it's weight in chocolate. And then afterwards, we went to see about dinner. Of course, when we saw Shelly's Backroom we had to go in, since we were with Shelley and Matthew. But alas, they were smoking cigars so we all thought not. We ended up eating at The Red Sage Chili Bar. But alas it too was a shoulda passed.I had to take a picture of the side on the menu. It is lit badly. But I thouht a buck fifty for a side of sour cream was a bit much. Not to mention the price we paid for the Beef Fajitas and there were 5 tiny peices of beef. Now we know again, eh? I don't deny the food downstairs is hard to beat, but the chili bar, well it needs to beaten. Very well, thank you. Enjoy the pics.

This is a temple I get to pass while walking the dog. And I do mean walk pass, not the other type of passing. It is huge and beautiful in stature,

Wild Hair

This is one that is probably already on another bloggers page, but I believe it is worth adding to mine. I thought of this as I was going through Whole Foods this morning. It is a true Colbert word of the day. From left to right. The first one has always seemed to have that wild hair somewhere in his life, though in these later days not so much on his head. The middle has always seemed to have it on the top of her head, and every now and then somewhere else. And the final one is now truely coming to the age where he will have it on his head, and be getting them regularly else where for at least the next 10 years. Bless each of them for their displayment of said hair. Austin

My morning life

We were awakened by our dog this morning. First at 3am, then at 4:38am. I had gotten up at 3 because he climbs up on the desk in our new office desk, but cannot get back down. We asked him to come back later. He whined a while, but then relented. William ended up takening him out at 5:45am. I love my guys. Especially when they are on the mornng walk.Today I have to go get my car inspected. Actually 2 weeks ago, but C'est la Vie. Enjoy the fuzzy morning view. PS The dog is now snoring. The top photo was taken 2nd.
