Happy and Merry

Here is a photo of Shelley and Zita on Thanksgiving Day. It was a dinner that had food for 13 although there were only 4 of us. I tried down loading a vid of the tree but it did not come out right through the system for some reason, so here is a picture instead. And thisis the Christmas tree that William and I decorated. We are very happy with it. We hope all have a good time. I mean day, I mean year, Ah hell folks, just have a good whatever you can get. And if it is only one day at a time, that is fine by me. I am right there with you. Happy and Merry nights to all and days to follow. Austin. Enjoy the pic and vid.

A very lovely Day

We went to the Hopper exhibit in the East Wing of the Smithsonian Art Museum today and then went to Go Mama Go, and POP stores on 14th St. It is just up from where I take Edvard, so I went to pick him up, and while we were walking home we saw the family waiting for the bus. Lenore snapped this shot of us. And since she wanted the dead bird off the top of my blog, I thought this would be a good one to be the replacement. It was a good day. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Day. No matter what your belief might be, please know I wish you all a Merry peaceful day. Enjoy the Pics

feet and other scary things.

I wanted to share a couple of things. First, this is the pumpkin we carved the other night. It was fun doing it together. William and I went back and forth with using the knife, and deciding the best way to rotate the pumpkin while cutting. William bought a kit with the papers to tape on, a crayon to mark the dots, a scooper to scrape out the insides, and of course a jagged little knife to follow the cutting marks. We have two more to carve yet. Hopefully tonight. OOOh, uuuh, Oooh.

Now, speaking of cutting... This is Dr. Firestone who has been working on my feet for the last two months, or so. He has been very good at listening and trying to do what is best to fix my damned feet. I happened to catch him on a dressed up day. I don't think he could do all the slicing on feet, as he does, in nice clothes every day. I don't think actually does all that much slicing. He might have inspired Saw IV, but I don't see it. But he is someone I recommend if ever you have pediatal problems. I know that isn't a proper term, but it works for me right now. Anyway, he has been working on my feet so I can wear something like these shoes to the Ms Adams Morgan party we went to. Enjoy the pics.
PS Notice the feet. I thought that was some good shooting on my part.

the cool, the cooler, and the ultimate in coolness

Here are some of the photos from this path two months. I was really happy with the way things turned out for the Ms Adam's Morgan Contest. Please remember the way this works. There are 10 contestants that dress in "Drag Absurd," and there are 2,00 people in the audience coming to see them. And half of us are dressed up, as well. There are a lot of good looking and then the not so good looking. We went for the not so category. The theme this year was "TV Land." So, I found Rudolph the red nose reindeer cotton that William is wearing. "The Pink Panther" that Yvonne is wearing. And I am in some "Thomas the Tank Engine" fabric. Robin did most of the sewing for the robes. Fun pants and Corsets all in Black. Mine was Leather. Ooops. We were well received, but certainly not one of the extremes by far. Below that There are two ladies that were quoting Shakespeare when Edvard and I walked into the pet store called Doggie Style." It wasn't that they were young black ladies as teasingly accused me of, but more so that I was in a pet shop where they were joking with each other what there favorite Shakespeare lines were. They were awesome to listen to in the fact that they were funnin' and brainin' at the same time. Below that Mathew and William came to me when I was in the hospital 3 weeks ago. First William then Mathew. I had a reaction on the way home with the food in my hand that I needed to stop it. Anyway, William called as I was coming around to consciousness as they were rolling me into the hospital. As I pulled it out of my pocket the ambulance guy said, "Yeah, that's been doing that for the whole time." It was William asking where I was. I guess he was missing his dinner food. The thing is I was a half a block for the house when I went down. He came to the hospital relatively quickly, and then Matthew. We ate our dinner which I still had with me, and they made me drink orange juice. They said when I was checking in that my blood sugar was below 20. That is low in Diabetic speak. I replied I was shooting for 8. Then Matthew and William started a friendly which quickly turned into the absurdist conversation debate that Shelley and I love to listen to.

Ah well, we live, and unfortunately the bird in the picture did not. It isn't pretty, but it is death art. The crab meat package saying "Crab Elite," "with real crab added" was just too good to pass up. The doll I saw while walking Edvard. Thought it was cool.

Enjoy the pics.

Ducks, dog, and wild Flower

There was a message posted on the board as I was leaving my meeting last Friday that someone, who started their new life about the same time I did, was hit by a car and died. It happened about two weeks ago, but the news was a flash to me. Here we are trying to improve ourselves, and all of a sudden BOOM your brought down. It makes me think of that southern expression..."Shhhiiitttt!" Need I say more? Not really. Here's to you Todd, God Bless. Enjoy the Pics.

cranky means you're Comfortable

Hey Y'all, I had a good time last week riding up on the train to NYC with Shelley and then spending the day with her and Janusz. Then I went out to Ben and Den's for dinner which was wonderful. We went out to Penn country on Friday through Sunday. It was very pleasant. Met Scott and Frank who are in the picture with Ben and Den. The best thing I got verbally out of that weekend came from Frank. He was talking about Scott being concerned about people liking or not liking him. He said that he respected people who don't like him because he's got character, and not everybody is going to like his particular type of character. Now, this is certainly paraphrasing what he said, but I came away with a new insight on me, and those who don't necessarily like me. I wonder if character is like have big bone structure? Anyway, I got too. Ben and Den were the best of hosts while I was there. I only dream to aspire to be as good as them one day. I say one day because that will be all that I will probably be able to match their hosting skills. I will be sure to get pictures of it when it occurs. The picture of the framed art is one that we found along the way, and I had to have it. A must, because it is my inner self on film. So, we stopped back in on Sunday to buy it. I love it. We also discovered a little Italian Deli in the same town that had self dried salamis and such. The people in there were a great group to talk to as well as buy from. When I got back to work on Wednesday, I hit the ground running. Found out the Miss Adam's Morgan is early again this year. October 5th. Be sure to look for photos after that date. Oh, and of course dear Ms Yvonne. We hooked up with her in Clarendon at Eleventh. Food was very good. Enjoy the pics.

The good, the bad , and the others

I had several pictures to show. Not that any truly relate to one another. There is the dinner with Woody, he not shown, but Laura's and the family's friend Teresa is. Dad and Laura in there, as well. Then there are the two elevator call box shots that had the face looks to them. They look like brothers maybe, because one didn't have a down button there was a difference. They are a darker set faces wouldn't you say? The last is of Lorella and myself taken at Zita's during dessert. We had a good time. She having to deal with William eating crabs next to her outside and catching some of his splatters as he tore apart the crabs, but Laura got a good picture us the three of us with dirty crabbed hands. Hopefully she will post it somewhere, if she hasn't already. Enjoy the pics.

A Couple of Old Ones

Closed eyes and deft ears
But never mute
I try to breath tasting each breath
Feeling each touch
But all I smell is the loneliness of myself

Long before then there was now
There were the ideas yet to come
Feelings yet to express
Plans yet to make
But there was also you to share it with

But now there is no you
no plans no feelings no ideas
Just the memory of you then

pictures and not much text, okay so yeah

I just wanted to show you some of the flowers I see while walking Edvard, and of course how Edvard is in the heat. He does not like Summer. He gets that from my side of the family. I was at a celebration where there was salad and pizza... So, there is the picture of me eating my salad. God bless the greens. Sorry I have been gone a while but I had to read the last two Harry's before the movie and seventh book came out. Then had to do the seventh before I did anything else. I went to get my nails done today and the young lady dong my nails was nicknamed Kate. I know her real name but we won't get into all that. Anyway I asked her if she was taking any classes, and she said, "yes." English. I asked her what she wanted to do after this. She gave a nearly non understandable answer. She thought for a couple of minutes and then said, "I have hopes, but they may not be what happens." I am paraphrasing what she said, but essentially it was that. Her demeanor crushed me when she said this. I felt so at odds with my life before going in there; and yet, I am okay. Not all my hopes have been met, but many have in a good way. And I helped do them. Not on my own, but with faith. God Bless the friends and family I have. Thank you all. Enjoy the Pics. And yes I know there is a duplicate. It's a good one.
