The Ghost of Pedro's passing

We left yesterday morning at 7:30am and got here in Edisto Island about 4:pm. Had to photo the Pedro Hat Pillar. It just would not be the same without the Pedro signs. I will try to take a few on the way back. William is styling his new head phones given as a gift from my rents. It is way of relieving the day. A cocktail, a lay down, and a good album blasting in his ears with no distractions. Sounds pretty keen actually. He is very grateful to the in-laws, and even some in-in-laws this year with the Christmas gifts of cheer. Mostly for the computer and I-Pod.
I had a good look at me mom's tree. Quite the beautiful sight, eh? It is more the clean look this year, even and daintilly tall, but the angel was so pretty I had to a study it up close. And well, then there was St Nich, I am still not sure if he is dead or severely hung-over, but I could not see him breathing. Whose the good boy now, huh? So, I am calling it Santa's Death Sled. Details at 11. Please all, have a good and safe Christmas. This is the time of year when many are thinking that they should be happier and better than they are, and then look for alternative means of finding this happiness. Make sure you do not get caught up in the sorrows that surround the joy. It is a time to be with those you love, and if you are not able to be, know that they love you and will be able to be there soon. Blessings to all, and to all good pics. Enjoy them.

Mimickery and Sunsets

Hey ya'll. It has been a bit, but things are moving fast so I haven't found much time to do the bloggin'. Anyway, I had a safe trip down to Edisto for the Christmas family get together. I have done all my shoppin', and then some. But that is good for all. I have to write a sonnet tonight which I will do shortly. Oh why not wait till tomorrow. I don't win the procrastination, practically every year, awards by being done first, now do I? I am going to do a back to the future and put some other picture and bloggin' in. I hope you all got to see the Colbert report with his guitar contest with The Decemberist's lead guitarist member, as well as, a few more politicians and rockers. it was fun for him as well as them and us. I will sign off now. Enjoy the pics. Oh, yeah. Enlarge the Matthew and Shelley pic and see what they are mimicking on the fridge. It is the calender that helps raise funds to help support Dragon Boat Charleston. A Dragon Boat Team comprised of both cancer survivors and supporters. They have another out this year. Matthew and Shelley and William and I have looked through the calender every now and then and discussed the different dealings with cancer, nudity, and photo concepts. It is interesting how something like this is such a subtle influence on ones day. I love my family very much, and find that we are all still around a miraculous graceful feat that we have been blessed with. Whether it be because of mans' technology, God, Allah, Jesus, Mohammad, or the painted lady down the street on the corner, I praise the gift and the fighting support we have have been bestowed. Now, enjoy the Pics.

Free from Form

this is an old poem that I need to share today. I wrote it back in the late 80's early 90's not sure really. Please enjoy.

The clouds move free from form
Feeling the wind move its outer region
I sit and wonder if my form is much the same
There is the basic mass of materials
Metaphysical to cause the molecular being -
And then that which surrounds me causes
or influences me to bend this way and flow that

Looked upon myself I might be unusual
Or unique, but add the earth next to me
The supporting sky behind me, and
The passing sun, and
The whole view is Astronomical.

Not too enlightening, but enjoy the pic.

Happy to be where I am.

When I go to pick up William this is my favorite view. I get to be between the Nations Capital and the Washington Monument. It is one of my favorite places to be. I am not all that, "Proud to be an American." But it does make me feel that I am in the middle of it all.
I am bummed because we bought me a ticket to fly down early for Christmas, and take a well deserved vacation, but it seems not at this time. We will need to eat the price of the ticket, and take it another time. I can just think of being needed in the mature way I am being needed, and get on with my life, eh? Enjoy the pics.

Sky Unbelevable

Today was the sky day of death. The tree I took on the way to work. The middle was more the water tower in the back middle. The sun was lighting it so majestically. And then I was coming out of Home Depot, (in which they were making an announcement and at the end the guy says at, "Ho-Ho-Ho-Home Depot" God it was sick. Points for him. I was walking by a women that worked there at the same time, and wanted to ask her if he was talking about her, but either she wouldn't get it or I would get slapped. either way it wasn't a good plan) and the orange clouds were so loud. How could I refuse any of these pictures from your viewing pleasure. William and I just went out to eat at Annie's. We had a half condesending and half dismissive, but just the right tone of kindliness and sincerity to allow the asshole to serve us. However, at Home Depot earlier this guy, Dan, was phenomenal in helping 4 people consecutively, and yet, simultaneously. It was awesome. I wish he new how to sew I would have hired him immediately. There was a guy at Michael's Art's and Crafts, Kevin, that I felt the same way about today. Sunday, Which is now today that I am editing this, I hope to relax with the other two, and be happy. Enjoy the pics.

Holly and Hot Air.

I have been busy of late, but today I am taking some time for me, and going to G Street Fabrics in Rockville and seeing their antique button show. These are pics from driving home from work, and then walking Edvard that same night, which was Wednesday. I hope to be getting some snow action soon, but it is not likely. There is so much hot air blowing in DC, that it doesn't get here as much as I like. And don't fool yourself, I realize I am part of the warm front. Enjoy the pics.

The Golden Days of Now

I saw the tree almost empty of leaves, and yet still golden in its beauty. I hope that I am that way in the autumn years. There is also a nice cloud gathering that I saw this yesterday morning while walking the dog. I was just fortunate that the birds did a circle and flew back in my line of picture. It is not often that things in life come back around for us. And leads this me to the next picture Ben and Den came back into town for a visit. The blurriness of the picture might be from the three angels sitting at the table with us. I will let you infer who the three are. Dinner was great. Well, the food wasn't so good, but the company and the atmosphere was great. Enjoy the pics.

A Few of My Favorite Things

Here are a few of my favorite things. I wanted to share them. I know I keep sending pics of the sky, but what pollution and God can make is a wonder. While my dog is sleeping in his bed because it is a drizzly morning, I thought I would post a blog. The week has been a difficult one, but nothing that can't be handled. I hope to sign on a few more people to our staff next week, but we shall see. We saw our friends Jim and Sandy last night and went to eat Indian food in Adams Morgan. I am remiss because I did not take a pic of them, but they will be here again. It is weird being the only one sitting at the table not drinking. Being an Alcoholic, one might notice how tall the Taj Mahal beer bottle is, or how soft and succulent the glass of White Zin looks. Especially, after sending away the second glass that came with the carafe, and not getting the Cardamon Tea that one ordered. Jim and Sandy if you get to this please don't feel bad. ( I just went for an hour walking the dog. Did you miss me?) Back to business. It is funny that I see it as this, and they (meaning most other people) don't. But how could they? I mention this to be informative to someone who might tap into this, and be able to learn from it. Not as a bitch session. Anyway, it is life in the way we live it. It was a very nice visit, otherwise. I hope to be able to go out there (Iowa) to visit them soon. Sounds sick, but I would love to spend a few severally cold snowy days out in the Mid West.
I also, wanted to show Carin's pic on the blog site. She is a special young lady dealing with life in a good way. She ends up in the store for a while, so she gets to decorate a manikin every now and then. But people want to over rule this decision because they are seeing it as maybe not having enough control of their situation. But I view it as a growth for everyone. Patience for some, admiration for others, and definitely an artistic and culturing event for Carin. God bless the young, they have so much to learn about handling life as adults and with adults.
The final pic is of my Christmas stocking and the Abominable Snowman. (Thank you Janis for the help in the spelling) The statue is one our favorite Christmas trinkets. The stocking I got from Dan. A previous partner. Lost him, kept the stocking. The statue we got from Tommy, Sandy, and Thomas the 4th. Thanks guys. Hope to get a picture of the 3 of them at Christmas. Enjoy the pics.
